It’s time again for the ADDY Competition — the world’s largest and most comprehensive advertising competition. The ADDY® Awards represent the true spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world.
Don’t miss your chance to have your hard work and creativity recognized not to mention the bragging rights!
Below are some tips for entering and answers to common questions.
START NOW! It’s Easy!
1. Visit addycompetition.com
2. Click on “How to Enter”
3. Select Link “ Click here to enter the ADDY Awards”
4. Choose “I am a Professional”
5. Click “Select” and choose the 3rd drop down menu
6. Select “AAF – Caribbean”.
7. Fill in your information on the Entrant Form
*Tip: Be sure to select YES for Member if you are a member in good standing (have renewed since June) or will be sending in your membership check with entries. Becoming a member will reduce your entry fees. If you decide to join as an individual rather than a corporation, you may NOT enter your work under your company’s name, only your own and you are the only one allowed to be listed on the credits. This is not recommended.
NOTE: Fees have gone up slightly. Although a $10 per entry increase, AAF – USVI is absorbing most of this in order to keep entry fees as low as possible for our members. Yea AAF – USVI!
HOW TO ENTER ONLINE
Refer to the ADDY Rules and Categories PDF for a list of categories and definitions. This can be downloaded from addycompetition.com. Please review ALL categories carefully. Even if you are a veteran entrant, categories are updated each year to accommodate new media.
After you decide which category your entry fits in best, complete the entry form. Carefully type and proof the credits and title of your entry. The way you enter it here, is the way it will be entered on your certificate should you win. Do NOT use all caps to enter your information please. Print entry forms after entering. *Tip: Format the page set up so that it prints on one page rather than two.
Note: Each entry can only be entered one time unless it is an element of a campaign. Then it may be entered by itself in the appropriate category and with the campaign.
All work entered must be NEW creative and published between the dates of January 1, 2010-December 31, 2010.
You can close and make changes as often as you want until the close of entries on February 2nd at midnight. When you are finished with all entries, review and print Manifest form.
Physical Entries
After you complete the entries online and print Entry forms, you must cut the Entry forms and adhere the category/entry number strip to the back of the physical entry. Entries must be placed in a CLEAR plastic envelope with the entry form with the creative showing to the outside. Included in the envelope must be an accompanying CD with a PDF of the physical entry with an entry strip taped to the CD or written on it. This is extremely important for winner recognition at the District level.
Do not leave out the PDF – one entry/PDF per CD. This obviously does not apply to radio or TV spots, but make sure to write the entry number on the CD.
OVERSIZED ENTRIES: Do not send entries that are huge like posters. Enter the artwork as a PDF only. Calendars are an exception. Packaging is also an exception.
When you are finished, review the manifest form once again and make sure each entry is there. Remember to place entries in numerical/categorical order and drop off to MLB Creative at 2111 Crystal Gade, St. Thomas (Synagogue Hill) or at Austin Advertising at 19 Estate Thomas in Havensight. A collection point for St. Croix will be announced. A check for the full amount must be with your entries in order to be judged. Also include a separate check for your membership if you have just joined and ensure you have included your membership form with your check.
For further questions, please review addycompetition.com site first and then email Terri@mlbcreative.com.
